Important 2ndbestfriend Health Update

2ndbestfriend - "My body was decaying right in front of my eyes. I didn't even recognize myself; I thought I would die before my album release."

2ndbestfriend admits shockingly that he was bedridden and on the verge of death when he wrote this album. The Lofi/Chillhop artist is currently dealing with an unidentified illness that doctors cannot seem to solve.

2ndbestfriend has reported that he is suffering from a nutritional deficiency due to an accelerated digestive system which disables his body from absorbing nutrients. After abruptly losing 60 lbs, he admits that he didn't think he would see the release date of his debut album 'The Vibrary.' Symptoms including brain fog, hair loss, muscle failure, muscle tremors, fever, light headedness, loss of cognitive functions, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, chills, swelling of legs and arms, loss of appetite, and the inability to walk soon followed. He is currently tasked with self-healing as hospitals and doctor's offices were no help.

On November 22, 2020, the Lofi Hip-Hop artist collapsed during a recreational basketball game. Struggling to breathe, he crawled to the nearest bottle of water and began to drink seconds before going unconscious. Assuming that the event was a one-off, he immediately traveled back home where he had collapsed in his bathtub. Regaining consciousness hours later, he found himself struggling to move his arms and legs, shortly experiencing seizure-like symptoms. He was then rushed to the hospital where they were not able to identify the cause of his illness.

Eventually, 2ndbestfriend was released and sent home; as he was told to halt any exercise or physical activity. Over the next 4 months, he experienced tingling and muscle failure in his arms and legs, not being able to walk. " I remember drinking a single cup of water and my body reacted as if I just left the buffet," he exclaimed, " I would eat a few spoonfuls of oatmeal and my body passed it before I was done eating it. I wasn't retaining any nutrients from the foods I was eating because my digestive tract was abnormally fast."

"I felt like I was a dead man walking. My brain functions slowed down, I couldn't process any thoughts, and it felt like I was on drugs. At times, I couldn't even remember my own name or recognize myself in the mirror. My brain felt like it was melting and I was along for the ride on the journey to self destruction."

After visiting his primary care physician, and getting no answers, 2ndbestfriend realized that he was on his own and had to take this matter into his own hands. "I started listening to podcasts and doing independent research. I figured that Western medicine was not going to be the solution, and that I am going to have to save my own life."

While listening to hours of podcasts and reading countless articles, the artist stumbled into a special diet that was designed from another person that has experienced the same exact rare situation that he has. The strict diet consists of chicken breast that is boiled for 8 hours with carrots and mushrooms, white bread, white rice, applesauce, and bananas.

"It sucked, man," he said, "I couldn't have any seasoning with my food or eat any food outside of the bunch I listed, or my body would go into a seizure like mode. I would lose 10 lbs. and feel so weak and start all over again. Eating those same foods 24/7 drove me insane."

2ndbestfriend was able to slow down his digestive tract with this diet, thus saving his life. "I was able to absorb nutrients again. I could tell because my hair started growing back."

He continues to suffer through this mysterious illness and slowly introduces foods one-by-one back into his diet to see what his body accepts

"I'm not out of the woods yet. It's two steps forward, one step back. I am disappointed that the medical industry couldn't help. I just hope to be functional one day. I miss being able to go on walks and drive cars. I will never take those things for granted again."

You can catch his debut album, The Vibrary, on all major platforms. He hopes to one day find the strength to continue doing what he loves most. You can listen to his latest album today, which is on track to be the Indie Album of the Year.
